Mason Anderson, from Moreno Valley, could barely mask his enthusiasm once he found out he would travel to the Republic of Korea for the 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games. Mason, who is 30-years-old, has never left the United States — let alone fly on a plane — and cannot wait to experience another culture.
In PyeongChang, Mason will help represent Team USA and hopes to win a gold medal in floor hockey.
Along with floor hockey, Mason also competes in basketball. He works at Ability Counts in Riverside and enjoys playing video games.
Mason has earned multiple gold medals in Special Olympics Southern California basketball competitions.
