What does being a member of Special Olympics Team USA mean to you?
I can compete and do my best. I got to go to Princeton NJ and am going to LA to compete with people from all over the country and world. Having good friends in Delaware and meeting new friends. I also like to win medals and I love to swim so I get to do both at the same time. I am proud to represent my schoo, my city, state and my country. I am proud to represent my family and especially my brothers (one who is serving in the army, the other is a firefighter/EMT). I want to see Special Olympics grow even bigger. I want to play basketball and bowling. But I really want to compete in Nationals and World Games again.
What are some of your favorite hobbies
Aquatics/Swimming, band, ninja turtles and music
Anything else you'd like to add?
I want to thank my mom Jane for always supporting me and being there, my dad Robert for loving me. My brothers and sisters for all their support. Thank you to my school, Newark High School, Special Olympics Delaware for nominating me, my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. This has been the best year for me and I am so happy. I look forward to more accomplishments in my life.
